Books on the Big Screen

Young adult series like Harry Potter, Twilight, and The Hunger Games have been blockbuster hits on the big screen, so Hollywood isn't going to stop adapting popular books anytime soon. Since it's a universal truth that the book is always better than the movie, be sure and check out these books before they make it into a movie theater near you!

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

City of Bones, the first in the Mortal Instruments series, is set to debut on the big screen on August 23, 2013. This fantasy world, full of supernatural creatures and mystery, is sure to be a big hit.

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margie Stohl

This paranormal love story with a hint of Southern, gothic flavor, has signed on big Hollywood names like Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson to star. The witchy world of this series is sure to please fans of Twilight!

If you're not a fan of the supernatural, don't despair. Two fantastic contemporary young adult novels will also be hitting the big screen soon!

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

In this story, Samantha dies in a car accident, and must relive the day over and over until she discovers a way to save herself. While perhaps not as funny as Groundhog Day, it promises to be a great film, with the director of The Secret life of Bees running the show

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

This is arguably THE new release of 2012 in young adult literature, and a movie is already in the works. Two teenagers that meet in a cancer support group team up to track down their favorite author, and in the process, learn about life, love, and loss.

All of these books are very popular (which of course, is why they are being made into movies!) so put a copy on hold today!
