Teen Zone Super Smash Bros Brawl November Tournament Recap

Rameez takes the championship

The Lawrence Public Library Teen Zone hosted its monthly Super Smash Bros Brawl Tournament on November 19, 2011. A total of 16 teens gathered at the library auditorium where they battled it out to be this month's champion.

After going through a double elimination tournament bracket, October defending champion Rameez faced off against September's tournament's champion Daniel in both the winner and grand finals games. Daniel looked like he might pull off the upset tearing through the rest of the bracket with relative ease and building momentum as the day went on, but Rameez's skills proved to be too much as he handed Daniel both of his losses, taking the top spot and winning the championship for the second month straight. Daniel took the second spot and looks to bounce back and reclaim the title he once held two months ago.

The day also saw the arrival of Griffin as a force to be reckoned with in bracket. Formerly a Ganondorf player, Griffin's recent switch to Olimar as a main character along with practice and one of the stronger tactical zoning games helped him take third place. leaves him as a strong up and comer and a possible challenger for the title.

Overall, it was a fun afternoon of Brawl. If interested in participating, the next tournament will be on December 17 at 3pm in the auditorium.
